Inspiration can strike at any moment.  This weekend on my usual morning walk, I stumbled upon a beautiful butterfly that seemed to be struggling.  Upon further inspection I realized the little guy was unable to fly.  Knowing that if I left him there he’d not survive, I rushed to find something to carry him home with me.  How fitting is it that the only thing easily accessible was a Neiman Marcus box with an unopened Christmas present in it.  Determined to save him I began researching and discovered the inspiring story of the butterfly.

The life span of the butterfly is very short leaving a lasting memory of beauty.  It’s easy to look at a butterfly and not appreciate the transformation it had to go through to get to where it is.  When reflecting on the butterfly it really stood out to me that their purpose is to beatify the world.  The symbolism behind butterflies is based upon transformation, renewal and rebirth.  Seeing this butterfly reminded me that although life can throw some challenges our way, like the butterfly we have the power to transform.  No matter where you are in life it’s never too late to change course and in all things we encounter we should try to leave a lasting memory of beauty and growth.

So, on this Monday lets release our inner butterfly!  Let’s take notice of where we are in life and appreciate how far we have come and also how much closer we are to reaching our full potential.
